AfAA Young Members Committee Representative (West Africa Region)
Lauraine Darkwah, MCIArb is a lecturer with the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) whee she lectures Media Law and Legal Environment of Business. She is also a lawyer at Ghartey, where her areas of expertise are: Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR), Civil and Criminal litigation, Company and Corporate Law, International Business Law, International Finance Law and Labor Law. She is tasked with running the firm’s periodic internship program. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Kwame Nkurumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Ghana and an LLM in International Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School – York University, Canada. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) UK. Lauraine is a member of the Secretariat and Publicity Team of the Ghana Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) where she has had the opportunity to informally mentor several members including lawyers. She is a mentee of the 10th cycle of the Young International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) mentoring program
