Chikwendu Madumere is a 1990 law graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, IIe- Ife with Second Class Honours degree Upper Division. Whilst at the University he won the following prizes:

Chief E.A.O. Shonekan Prize for Best Student in Commercial Law
Prince Bola Ajibola Prize for Best Student in Commercial Law
Godwin Adoki Memorial Prize for Best Student in Land and
Best Student in Administrative Law

He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 having passed his Bar Examination with Second Class Upper Division.

He has a Post Graduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Keble College Oxford University under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and also has a Diploma in Financial Management. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration. He has a Masters Degree with distinction in Petroleum Law and Policy from CEPMLP, University of Dundee, Scotland.

He is the immediate past Chairman, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Abuja Chapter, and also a Chartered Arbitrator. He is in the Approved Faculty List of CIArb where he teaches, directs, moderates and assesses different CIArb courses from Associateship to Fellowship.

He has a research PhD on the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules on Transparency at CEPMLP, University of Dundee, Scotland. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK. He is a member of the National Committee of the ICC Arbitration Commission and has significant experience in well over 70 arbitration cases both locally and internationally on disputes ranging from Joint Venture, Energy and Natural Resources, Construction and Infrastructure.

He is a member of the Capital Market Solicitors Association and is registered with SEC as a Capital Market Solicitor since 31 July, 2009.
