International Law Development Organisation Country Manager, Uganda
Barbara is the Country Manager, International Law Development Organisation at Uganda. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, MCIArb (K), a professional Mediator, member of Women in ADR (WADR), and a former research fellow at the East China University of Politics and Law. She previously served as a Commercial Legal Specialist for IDLO in Kenya where she supported several commercial justice sector reforms such as Enabling engagements between the Commercial court and court users, Automation of the Commercial and Tax Division of the High Court and Chief Magistrates Court, development of the ADR policy and publication of the Case Digest on ADR by the National Council for Law Reporting. Barbara has also served as a Senior State Counsel at the Office of the Attorney General in Kenya, and as the Team Lead- Case Management Department at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. During which she represented the Government and other state agencies in diverse commercial matters before the High Court and Arbitral Tribunals as well as contributed significantly to the development of the Arbitration and Mediation rules of NCIA.
